Lifetime Achievement Award

The Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes members who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to, and leadership in, the field of perioperative sleep medicine.

 

These contributions should span over the course of a career and may be in the form of new discoveries/knowledge, innovations and/or ways to improve the practice of perioperative medicine. The contributions should have had a long-lasting impact on the field.

 

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented annually at the SASM Annual Meeting.

 

Selection Criteria:  

  • The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the individual’s work over the course of their career
  • The nominee should be academically accomplished, whether it be in the form of research, education and/or leadership.
  • The nominee should have an established history of distinguished service to the field.
  • The nominee should have exhibited leadership and provided inspirations to others in the field.
  • The nominee should be a member of the Society.
  • The nominee may only receive the award once.

Presidential Scholar Award

The Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine Presidential Scholar Award recognizes members who have demonstrated outstanding scientific and sustained contributions to perioperative sleep medicine in the last 10 years.

 

Members are asked to nominate mid-career, qualified academician members of the Society whose research has had or will have meaningful impact on the clinical practice or scientific direction of perioperative sleep medicine.

The Presidential Scholar Award is presented annually at the SASM Annual Meeting.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • The Presidential Scholar Award recognizes the individual’s work.
  • The nominee should be actively involved in research and be academically accomplished.
  • The nominee should have a track record of high impact publication and have built a significant body of work on a topic relevant to perioperative sleep medicine.
  • The nominee should be a member of the Society.
  • The nominee may only receive the award once.
